SoftActivity Knowledge Base. Running Softactivity monitoring software with McAfee Antispyware
Some anti-virus and anti-spyware programs can detect such SoftActivity programs as
Activity Monitor, Activity Monitor Agent and Activity Logger as spyware.
To install SoftActivity software you must be the owner of the computer or authorized by the
owner. In this case you may easily add SoftActivity programs to Exclude/Ignore/Exceptions list of your
anti-spyware. Most of such programs provide such lists. McAfee calls it Trusted Programs.
SoftActivity Activity Monitor and McAfee security software
McAfee Antivirus 2006 does not detect Activity Monitor or Agent as security threat.
McAfee AntiSpyware 2006 may detect part of Activity Monitor Agent only when user runs computer scan.
If you knowingly installed Activity Monitor Agent on and you own this computer or have owner's authorization,
you may easily disable warnings in Antispyware.
To disable it click Trust button as shown on sample screen below. It will add Activity Monitor to
Trusted Programs list and will not detect in future scans.

SoftActivity Activity Logger and McAfee security software
Unfortunately there is not way to exclude folders or programs from scan in AntiSpyware 2006 until
it detects the program. You need to install and run Activity Logger first.
McAfee AntiSpyware 2006 may detect Activity Logger when it's installed. It will show a
warning like the one below identifying files in Program Files\Activity Logger folder
as parts of potentially unwanted program.

Click Trust this Program to ignore Activity Logger in future. But
Then Scan in McAfee AntiSpyware 2006. When you run Scan it may also detect other parts
of Activity Logger as shown on the screen below.

Click Trust on all detected programs as all shown parts are from Activity Logger.
