SoftActivity Monitor and TS Monitor version 14.7 is now available.
This is a maintenance release that includes fixes and improvements. If you are using an earlier version, we recommend upgrading to ensure you have the latest updates applied.

Monitor app: refreshed and improved visual styling
Monitor app: added support for running Update and Repair Agent commands on multiple selected computers
fix: Agent update installation no longer uses the C:\Windows\SystemTemp folder, which caused false positives in some antivirus products. Updates now use its own dedicated folder that should be safely added to antivirus exclusions by IT admin to prevent interruptions.

This new update builds on our mission to help organizations improve employee productivity tracking and strengthen insider threat detection. Version 14.5 introduces important fixes, performance optimizations, and security enhancements to keep your monitoring environment reliable and secure.
If you are running an earlier version, we recommend updating to 14.5 to benefit from the latest improvements.

improved screenshot capturing performance – less CPU and RAM used on the monitored computers.
[fix] improved support for portrait (vertical) monitor orientation on screenshots.
email recording now supports “New” Outlook app.
email recording in multiple Outlook accounts. Previously only one account was supported.
[fix] in rare cases agent was showing an Outlook login window in monitored user sessions.

SoftActivity Monitor and TS Monitor (our on-premise solutions) have been updated to version 14.4. This release continues to enhance employee productivity tracking and insider threat detection with several fixes, performance improvements, and security patches.
Key Updates in Version 14.4
[fix]: Now captures screenshots in so called progressive Windows apps (e.g., the Copilot app).
[fix]: Fixed an issue where, in rare cases, the end of a user work session was not recorded when a computer was shut down.
webapp: Upgraded to new fonts and resolved character display issues in certain languages.
[fix]: webapp – error about wrong date format on Attendance view.
webapp: improved PDF reports and fixed when text was not fitting properly on the page.
[fix]: webapp – Fixed an issue in some PDF reports where the date field in a table did not fit horizontally.
[TS Monitor] fix: Resolved a problem where user idle time recording stopped after 50 days of server uptime.
Numerous performance-related and other improvements, fixes, security patches.
webapp: discontinued support of PostgreSQL database old version 9.6. PostgreSQL version 12 or newer is now required to run the web console.
New PostgreSQL version 15.10 is bundled with the installation package. Only earlier versions 15 will be automatically upgraded during installation;
Customers who are still using old PostgreSQL 9.6 are advised to follow our upgrade guide and upgrade to PostgreSQL 15 manually. Unfortunately an upgrade from PostgreSQL 9 can not be performed automatically to avoid any data loss. SoftActivity app needs to be completely reinstalled.
You still have the option not to upgrade the PostgreSQL 9 server. In this case, you can still update SoftActivity, but the WebApp will not be updated. It should continue working, but will no longer be officially supported and may stop working in future versions.

Improved Stealth Mode in the Client App. When the app works in Stealth Mode on the company-owned computers, ensuring discreet monitoring:
no processes in Task Manager
no SoftActivity icons in Start menu
hidden from Installed Apps: SoftActivity won’t show up in Windows Installed Apps list (Add/Remove Programs).
Reminder: stealth mode is only available on the company owned computers, when a user’s permission was obtained by other means.

No need to manage a separate SoftActivity password and login credentials.
Flexible account options: keep logging in using your email, or use Microsoft account.
How to get started:
Go to Admin panel – Accounts, click Create Account and send an invite.
When accepting the invite select “Continue with your Microsoft Account”
Accept the SoftActivity app on behalf of your organization to complete setup.
When logging in next time click Login with Microsoft

Capture screenshots during periods of user inactivity to provide insight into their idle time, whether it’s a long meeting call, or watching a video, or to verify that their screen remains unchanged during absences. Previously it stopped taking screenshots completely during idle time.

SoftActivity is pleased to announce the release of version 14.3, a major update to its on-premise software solutions, SoftActivity Monitor and TS Monitor. These tools continue to provide robust employee productivity tracking and insider threat detection for organizations.
New release now includes a new native Client App for Windows on Arm® on monitored workstations, and TS Monitor offers enhanced setup options for RDS farm.
What’s new in version 14.3
[SoftActivity Monitor] New Client App for ARM64 CPU architecture, designed specifically for Windows on Arm® devices.
It runs natively on the latest generation of laptops powered by Qualcomm Arm® CPUs, offering superior performance and extended battery life, without emulation.
For convenience, it’s included in the same unified installation package as before.
The installer supports x64, x86, and ARM64 Windows editions, automatically installing the correct native binaries.
Additionally, remote agent installation is fully supported for ARM-based devices.
[SoftActivity Monitor] The Monitor application now officially supports ARM64 Windows edition, functioning in emulation mode. It has been tested to have acceptable performance. However, for monitoring a large number of computers, we still recommend organizations installing it on the Windows x64 Server OS for optimal performance.
[TS Monitor] Easier setup with RDS farm. The installer now allows you to enter a service account for SoftActivity services. You can enter your Group Managed Service Account (gMSA) as described in our installation guide.
[TS Monitor] New installer command line parameter /account="SampleDomain\SampleAccount" to pass the service account in silent deployment mode.
PostgreSQL has been updated to version 15.8. The upgrade process is automated, requiring no action from the customer.
